18-20 April 2024

Tickets are now on sale!

A favourite with audiences around the world, this tragic story of doomed love in the time of Ancient Egypt draws its appeal from the impassioned arias, magnificent choruses, including The Grand March, and exhilarating orchestral music that highlight Verdi at the peak of his composing prowess, all set in the time of Ancient Egypt.

One of Verdi's most dramatic works, this fully staged production sung in English features professional soloists from major opera companies, accompanied by a full orchestra and the superb Kentish Opera chorus.

Directed by Stephen Anthony Brown with Robyn Sevastos as Musical Director this is a production not to be missed. Costumes designed by Carol Stevenson and Alice Harvey and set designed by Harry Stevenson.

Aida - with local gin-tasting at the Thursday performance

At our forthcoming production, we are pleased to be collaborating with Greensand Ridge, a local gin distillery based in Shipbourne, near Tonbridge.

As well as being a genuinely local distillery, Greensand Ridge is also the UK's most sustainable. Specialising in gins, brandies, rums and whiskeys, they make spirits with a local influence, use sustainable practices and turn surplus produce from local growers into fine spirits.

Their signature gin uses a delicately balanced mix of local botanicals including cobnuts, gorse flowers and bay laurel to craft a gin of distinction.

The tasting will be free of charge and drinks will be available to buy by the bottle or via gift voucher - available from 6.30pm and during the interval on the Thursday night only.

Workshop - 7th January 2024

This event has now passed but please join our mailing list to be kept up to date with further planned workshops and shows

We are keen to give people who are new to opera the chance to come along and have a go, and so we have decided to run a 'Musical Theatre to Opera' workshop on Sunday 7th January 2024 - it will be a great way to spend one of those early January afternoons when we all need something to help us get through the post-Christmas lull...

So if you're a Musical Theatre enthusiast but would like to give opera a try, our a taster workshop will be held at at The Stag, Sevenoaks, Plaza Suite from 13:00-17:00. You will have the opportunity to learn an opera chorus and then stage and choreograph it.

Review of our 70th Anniversary Concert
"What a wonderful way to celebrate Kentish Opera's 70th anniversary and to honour their past director for many years, Sally Langford. I have been witness to Sally’s directorship, and she will be a sad loss to Kentish Opera.

Robyn Sevastos guided us through the programme of popular opera, sung wonderfully by soloists Stephen Antony Brown, Helen Bailey, Natasha Day and the glorious Kentish Opera chorus.

Robyn’s narration was very informative, giving us an insight into to the work that Sally had directed. It was also touching that her husband and son were in the audience and her daughter in the chorus.

Keep up the good work for Opera in Kent."
